The yarn bag that you voted for me to make turned out amazing!
Okay, I know that the voting was very close this month and many of you wanted (and still want) me to write a tutorial for a mixer cover. I promise you that I will - and it will be in time for gift giving. Because I think that a handmade quilted mixer cover would make a fabulous gift.
But of course this yarn bag would make a supremely thoughtful gift for anyone on your list who loves to knit or crochet.
The yarn bag that I designed has a half-barrel shape which makes it open very wide (and it also holds a lot of yarn.
The large eyelet that I installed on top of the bag (the very last thing that I did) is the most clever part because now your fiber loving friends can draw the yarn out without even opening the bag.
As you can see, I added piping along the curved edges - because piping hides a myriad of mistakes, and I put on two zipper pulls for a thoughtful touch.
If you wanted to use this bag for anything else, such as a nice large lunch cooler, a toy bag, or a sewing project bag, you could simply leave off the large eyelet on top.
Give me a week or so to write up the free sewing tutorial.
When it's posted I'll let you know in the newsletter so make sure you are signed up!
