We decided to take the family to Utah for the weekend!
This was really a last minute trip - plane tickets bought just a week in advance, so it’s a good thing my kids know how to pack for themselves.
I’m too busy trying to finish up last minute sewing projects - like these cute vinyl pouches that will hold some makeup and travel size cosmetics. The vinyl means these are perfect for putting in my carry-on bag.
You might recognize the dumpling shape of this pouch. I used my own Pochi Pouch Tutorial, but instead of quilting fabrics together I used a single layer of vinyl.
As I suggested to you in the Pochi Pouch tutorial, I downloaded and used the pattern piece from my Patchwork Potholders.
It’s so amazing how one pattern piece can make two very different things!
I adapted the pattern just a little bit so that the pouches can open all the way and hold quite a bit.
As soon as we get back from our trip I will get to work on a tutorial for you that shows exactly how I made these. In the meantime, if you are adventurous you can use vinyl, a 14’’ zipper, 40’’ of bias binding, and the Patchwork Potholder pattern with the Pochi Pouch instructions to make one right now!
