Print any blog post (anywhere on the web) without ads - or without extra photos, text, or anything else you want to remove. Sound impossible? Relax, it’s easy!
I’m very grateful that my blog can be ad-supported because without that, I would probably have to find a regular job.
While it saves paper, ink, and storage space to simply bookmark or Pin your favorite content to return to it later, some people email me asking why I don’t have a ‘Print’ button so they can print up my free sewing tutorials without using 20 pages of paper.
Guess what??? I do have a print button!
Since my blog provider (currently Squarespace) doesn’t have a native solution, I searched online and discovered Print Friendly.
You can use the green ‘Print PDF’ button (see above - I add it to the end of all my posts) to automatically pull up any of my blog posts in a new window without the native ads.
But there’s more! After that you can click to delete any photos that you don’t feel like you’ll need, as well as any text or other content that you don’t want included in the printable PDF.
You can also re-size any text or photos that you choose to keep to further save paper and ink.
But what if you are on someone else’ blog and you want to use Print Friendly? No problem. Just copy the url of the blog post that you want to print, visit www.printfriendly.com, and enter the blog url into the big field at the top.
Find the green ‘Print PDF’ button at the end of this post and try it out. Don’t worry, it won’t automatically send anything to your printer until you tell it to. :)
