I love flag quilts. I love patriotic quilts. I've wanted to make one for so long... and I finally have!
I was inspired to name this quilt Miss Betsy because of my sister Beka...
She loves the story of Betsy Ross, the woman who some believe sewed the first American flag. Last year for Halloween, Beka decorated the office where she worked as if it were the 4th of July and she became Betsy Ross!
Miss Betsy (the quilt I just finished) is another sparkly, scrappy, strip-pieced Glitter Quilt.
Why is it that red, white, and blue look so good together? I pulled so many different fabrics from my stash for this quilt, even some ugly ones that I thought I'd never use. But they were the right color so it turned out star-spangled beautiful. (Read my tips for choosing fabrics for a low volume quilt here.)
I'm working on the Miss Betsy Quit Pattern and planning to release it Memorial weekend. That means you can have your Miss Betsy quilt done in time to snuggle under for 4th of July fireworks! ❤️
