And if you were really paying attention - you might recognize the cute buffalo check blanket that I used as a photo prop for the woven basket.
Because that’s the exact same blanket - I sewed it up into my poncho wrap!
In doing my research (ummm… examining wraps at the mall) I discovered that the secret to making a rectangular piece of fabric into a wrap with a collar is to sew an elastic casing with 1’’ elastic at the back.
The elastic draws the fabric together (in about the same place as your shoulder blades) and makes a nice collar!
Pair this outfit with some leggings and boots and you are ready to go.
I’m working on a tutorial for this poncho wrap this weekend, so it should be ready to post soon.
Or if you’d rather, you could use 2 yards of cozy fabric that is 50” wide or wider.
For my tutorial, I used fabric and I will show you how to give it fringe similar to the blanket version.
And now it’s time to join our Show Off Saturday picture party by uploading a picture of something you’ve been sewing right here!
Remember, you don't need to have blog to add your picture and show off something you made this week. Just leave the 'link' field blank. But if you do have a blog and want to add a link to your picture, great! The most clicked link will be spotlighted here next Friday.
I would love it if you shared on Instagram too and tagged me @sewcanshe too! Let's spread the party worldwide!
And don't forget to share the love and visit some of the other fun blogs in the party.
Please, no links to items for sale. Those links will be deleted. Thank you!
