This week I received a surprise box with fabric from my friend at Monaluna!
I decided to make a little unbundling video to show you my reaction to these beautiful fabrics… and then I chatted a bit about color theory!
I always love a surprise bundle of fabric… who doesn’t? I hope you enjoy the video and the little tidbits of information that I shared.
And now it’s time for you to show off! What have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see. Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.
My U-Pick Sewing Project is a triumph!
Sew up some pretty kitchen towels that won’t slip off the bar! They have a pretty tie that holds them on, plus a cute ruffle on one end.
These DIY embellished towels were sewn from inexpensive bar towels, plus 1/4 yard of fabric each.
This year my daughter asked me to make her a Cinderella Costume for Halloween. I must admit that it made me think of this funny sewing meme I saw in my Instagram feed...
I’ve been working on another fun Christmas project and it’s making me so happy.
It’s a quilted Christmas Tree wall hanging!
These tote bags are so much fun to make... I just can't stop. They are the perfect way to bust through your scrap collection. My kids have claimed the smallest one for taking snacks to school, crayons and paper to church, etc. I already gave the largest one away to a friend. And I am keeping the medium sized one for myself. Those are almost the last of my Cotton + Steel XOXO scraps and I am excited to show them off.
Every quilt you make needs a label.
Years down the road who will remember who made that quilt? Who did they make it for? And when? You might not even remember.
Plus if you decide to show a quilt, it will definitely need a label to ensure you get it back. Quilt labels are easy to make and there are lots of different ways. It's basically a piece of fabric with information on it that is attached to the back of the quilt, usually in a bottom corner.
You can use these small clear bags to organize sewing supplies, keep your makeup, or carry small bottles through the airport.
They are so fast and easy to sew, you won’t be able to stop!
Three little elves have lost their mittens and can't go out and play! Okay, I have four little elves running around here and I am being forced to think beyond Christmas a little bit here because we'll be taking a road trip to the north so my children can see snow for the first time. The poor things have no idea what they are asking for.
Voting for our October U-Pick project ended yesterday. Do you want to see which project won?
