How is your mini quilt wall looking??? I must admit that mine is getting pretty full with all 9 quilts from our free Monthly Mini Quilt series so far... including the darling Quarter Square Triangle Quartet - our September mini! Maybe I should have given them a bigger wall, lol.
Have you been sewing mini quilts with us? It's not too late to join in! You'll find links to all of the mini quilts in the blog series in the menu bar above. And if you email me a picture of your mini quilt for the current month, I'll put it in an upcoming mini quilt inspiration blog post.
I didn't have any Safari Party to sew with (sad face), so I grabbed some of Sedef Imer's newest line Sweet Prairie (also from Riley Blake).
Have I ever told you how much I love working with fat quarter bundles? Probably, but I'm going to repeat it! It's so easy having a whole stack of coordinating fabrics without having to spend hours putting them together myself. Plus I'm sure I'm saving money a FQ bundle... I mean otherwise I'd end up having to buy a whole yard of each print, right? 😂
Anyway, this mini quilt is named the Quarter Square Triangle Quartet because the center of it is made up from 4 quarter square triangles. The quarter square triangle is an awesome quilt unit that every quilt maker must have in their quilty toolbox of knowledge.
Why? Because it looks adorable by itself or you can combine it into about a million other designs.
And I'm going to show you the fastest, easiest, most accurate way to sew a quarter square triangle!
So mark your calendar for Monday (it's a holiday here in the U.S. and I'm giving you an excuse to get up early and sew!) because the Quarter Square Triangle Quartet mini quilt pattern will be posted here along with a Safari Party Giveaway!!!
Okay, okay... my showing off is done. Now yours will begin! What have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.
