Every month this year I have given you a new mini quilt pattern. So far 2 have been designed by me and 5 were designed by some of my favorite blogging friends (see those 7 here). On the Saturday before the free pattern is released (which is always the first Monday of the month), I have shown you my version.
Well, I designed the August mini quilt too. It's time to me show you my version, but if I did, that would ruin the surprise!
So this month I am just showing you the back! That's a dirty trick, right??? I love these wild horses that I used for my mini-backing. It's from the Hill & Dale collection by Ana Davis for Blend Fabrics.
I love how it looks with my favorite Aurifil thread collection.
And here's one more clue... it's a foundation paper pieced design! I think you're really going to love it. Of course, I will show you how to sew it with lots of step by step photos, but if you want to see how I learned (for the second time) how to do foundation paper piecing, just watch Carol Doak's Craftsy Class Mastering Foundation Paper Piecing. It's so thorough!
Make sure you come back on Monday to see the front of this mini quilt and learn how to make it using easy foundation paper piecing!
So now it's your turn to share what you've been working on... is it a new quilt, clothes for your kids, or a sweet tote? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.
