Just in time for summer (today is my kids' last day of school - eeek!) my first DIY card holder is done! This was the project that you (cute readers) picked for me to sew up in our May UnTutorials challenge.
I put Peltex 70 Ultra Firm Stabilizer (the sew-in, non fusible kind) on the inside to make it sturdy. It worked great, but I think I want it to be a little bit more sturdy. I think on the next one I'll try the fusible kind - the glue on both sides makes it stiffer. :)
You can see in the photo above that I used strips of hook and loop tape (velcro) to hold it in that triangle shape why you are playing card games..
I know the name 'Card Kitty' is kind of funny, but I totally love it. I was inspired by these cute kitties on the fabric... what do you think?
Look how they fold down for storage - fun! I can't wait until I have a few more sewn so my kids and I can all play cards together.
Give me a week (or so maybe) to play with the pattern a bit and write it up for you! I love our UnTutorials series... I've sewn up so many fun things since we started. See them all on this Pinterest board.
