I'm so crazy about word art these days. Every time I see an inspirational meme or quote, I want to print it up and tape it on my wall so I can look at it (and my kids will look at it!). But printed up memes taped to the wall are kind of... lame.
It's much more fun to 'print up' word art with your embroidery machine, don't you think? This darling sloth embroidery pattern available over at UrbanThreads. But I changed the quote to something that I find more inspirational. :)
So I am going to add the 'come what may and love it' embroidery design files (hand embroidery too) to the free patterns that you get when you sign up for my free newsletter. All you'd have to do to replicate what I did here is stitch out the adorable sloth and then stop your embroidery machine. Load my design and place the center of it about 1 1/2'' below the bottom of the sloth design. Voila! Your own Come What May embroidery word art!
If you already receive my newsletter (thank you!) it's totally fine to enter your email address again to get the free patterns.
To make it totally wall-worthy, I stitched my design on a large piece of natural colored canvas and then wrapped it around a 12'' square artists canvas. This one is blank but sometimes I find them at the thrift store or re-cover my kids paintings after they forget about them. He he.
After I folded and stapled my own fabric around the canvas, I trimmed away the extra fabric.
If you want to DIY this, make sure you hurry and grab that sloth embroidery file while it's free (the link is above)!
I've been working hard on some other machine embroidery inspirational art too, and you can find these designs in my Etsy shop!
So, what have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.
