Happy March! That means it's almost time for me to share with you are newest mini in our Monthly Mini Quilts series.
This mini is called 'Bolt' and it was designed by Sedef Imer of Down Grapevine Lane. She has such beautiful taste that I wanted her to be one of the first mini quilt designers in our little series... and she happliy agreed!
When I was at QuiltCon last weekend I was inspired to try making a quilt from solid fabric - something that I have never tried until now. I love how it turned out! It was the perfect background for me to practice different kinds of quilting.
The fabrics I used were Riley Blake solids from the Vintage Crayola collection. I used a 5'' stacker pack to make my quilt, but the giveaway prize this month will be a huge jelly roll of these delicious colors! (Note: don't buy a jelly roll of fabric for this mini-quilt, the strips are just a little bit too narrow).
What do you think of solids? My Quilty Kitty sure loves them!
This is what my mini quilt wall looks like so far... it grows a little big bigger each month. Yay! Find mini quilt pattern from other months plus other related posts on my mini quilt Pinterest board - make sure you follow it!
Watch for the 'Bolt' Mini Quilt pattern by Sedef Imer to be released on Monday. :)
On Thursdays we're posting pictures of readers' quilts from the current month only, so email me (caroline(at)sewcanshe.com) pictures of your Bolt quilts during March and we'll post them for everyone to see. It's so much fun to see the creations of quilters from all over the world.
So, what have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.
