Who is ready for a totally gorgeous and amazing mini quilt for December? I had so much fun sewing this one up and I know you will too! This month our mini quilt was designed by Christopher Thompson (who you might already know as the Tattooed Quilter).
The crisp lines on this mini quilt are achieved with foundation paper piecing. Don't worry - it's so easy! We used paper piecing for our August mini quilt and I shared a complete tutorial. :)
For the front of my mini quilt I used some off-white colored fabrics from my stash and 3 strips of red from my Vintage Crayola Jelly Roll from Riley Blake (the binding strips came from that jelly roll too).
Now I'm going to throw a curveball at you... our December mini quilt is much bigger than the rest of the mini quilts we made this year. Since it's a foundation paper pieced pattern, it will be totally easy to scale it down if you want. But I decided to make mine full size (21'' square) so I can use it as a table topper during the Christmas season. I love Christmas!!!
All of the mini quilts we have made this year are free patterns here on my blog. Watch for this one to be posted on Monday and find a link to all the others on my Mini Quilt Pinterest board!
Okay, your turn! What have you been sewing up? Will you share a photo with us in our Show Off Saturday Picture Party?
Remember, you don't need to have blog to add your picture and show off something you made this week. Just leave the 'link' field blank. But if you do have a blog and want to add a link to your picture, great! The most clicked link will be spotlighted here next Friday.
I would love it if you shared on Instagram too with the hashtag #showoffsaturday. Let's spread the party worldwide!
And don't forget to share the love and visit some of the other fun blogs in the party.
Please, no links to items for sale. Those links will be deleted. Thank you!
