Don't forget, you can see all of the Un-Tutorials (sneaky pins with no tutorials) that I have solved and written my own tutorials for here on this Pinterest board. I do it every month and it has become one of my favorite blog series ever!
I do believe it is time to start thinking about Christmas sewing, and you must be thinking about it too because you picked something very sweet and gift-y for our September UnTutorial:
My own kiddos are ages 7, 9, 11, and 12 (don't ask me if I have my hands full, what do you think? lol) and all I can say is that I better make 4 because whoever gets left out will not be happy. Good thing I have a gold medal in speed sewing!
If you want to see the original pin that these were found in (or even buy one from the website where they are sold) please click on the picture above. The website claims that they are handmade in Peru and your purchase helps save the rainforest. I know that just by sharing a link to their pin here on my website I am promoting the cause (think of all the busy people who decide they have to buy a cute kitty pillow instead of sewing one), so I don't feel bad about figuring out how to sew my own version.
In addition, I noticed from the website that their pillows are kind of small - the pillow part is only 11'' x 15''. I'm thinking that it might be practical to have this be more of a fleece pillow cover that fits a standard size pillowcase - maybe with a zipper or velcro closure to hold the pillow in? That way the cover can be washed if needed. Plus, standard bed pillows can be picked up cheap, unlike odd-size pillow forms. In fact, cheap pillows will fold easily to make that animal body look.
What do you think? Leave your ideas in the comments... I read them all even though I don't have time to answer every one. <3
