I'm so excited to share with you my Craftsy class Colorful Patchwork Bags and Baskets... it's finally out!
Last fall I bought a bolt of gridded interfacing from Amazon and discovered a whole new way to sew patchwork. And the most amazing thing that I found was that all my pattern ideas were immediately scalable - every project could be big or small depending on what size squares I started with.
And just so you know, if you can't get gridded interfacing, I figured out a way to make it yourself (DIY style), which I included in the class.
Plus, when you fuse your squares to the gridded interfacing before you sew them, it's easy to sew everything perfectly straight and perfectly quick!
I know I packed a lot into this class... There are over 2 hours of instruction!
The baskets are easy and fun, but I wanted to share more than that. These tote bags are fabulous - can you see the pockets on the exterior? When I realized that smaller versions of the tote bag could be easily altered to make zipper pouches, I had to add that in too!
Every project is perfectly suited to using precuts and scraps. Using my method you can literally make baskets, totes, and pouches in ANY SIZE! Use big squares to make big projects or small squares to make little projects. :)
Now that I've seen it, I am completely delighted with the wonderful job that Craftsy did with my class. They helped make everything that I wanted to teach come across in a friendly and clear manner. I could not have asked for more support or more talented people to work with. I am so proud of how it turned out!
I want to know what you think too!
