Did you see our amazing Un-Tutorial post last month? You voted, and I stitched up (and wrote a tutorial for) this Bedside Pockets Organizer.
Un-Tutorials are those sneaky pins that lead you to believe there's a tutorial behind them - and then there's not. Those kinds of pins are so common that I gave them a name and started a Pinterest board.
Now I'm asking you to help me pick one Un-Tutorial each month that I'll write a tutorial for. I adore a sewing challenge, so I know this will be fun. I chose three Un-Tutorials from our Pinterest board and its time for YOU to vote for which one I will sew.
Will it be...
This darling drawstring tote? The pin I found leads to a Japanese page with pictures that make me believe the tote is reversible. But no tutorial. This would be really fun to make.
A car stuff organizer? Is there a better name, lol? This pin leads to an unavailable Etsy listing. There have got to be other tutorials out there for similar things, but if you want to see my take on it, I'm game. Heaven knows I need one!
A cute patchwork bunny? This pin leads to a retired blog it looks like, but the bunny is worth repeating, in my opinion. He's so sad and adorable! It's never to early to sew for Easter, right?
Remember... whatever project wins, I'll be sewing my own knock-off version and then giving you a tutorial the week after that. So vote below for the project that you'd like to see me sew!
Next Wednesday voting will close and I'll announce the winner. Then I'll get started sewing it up. On the 3rd I'll share pictures of our finished project and on the 4th Wednesday I'll share a tutorial of my version.
And do you have a pin that you'd like to make a part of the Un-Tutorials? Leave me a comment with your email address at the bottom of this post so I can give you permission to add pins to our board. Be sure to read and follow the rules at the top of the Pinterest page.
And hey, come see what else I'm Pinning too!
P.S.... Lots of people will assume I picked these projects because I couldn't find another tutorial for them. They will send me links to similar tutorials. Before you do that, read my opinion on the subject:
1. Everything that you see in pictures has been sewn before by someone and will continue to be sewn and written up again and again.
2. I'm writing this blog series mostly to have fun with my readers and to find out what they want me to write next - not really to write a tutorial for something that hasn't been written before (see #1).
3. Since pretty much everything has already been done before, what I enjoy most is seeing how other bloggers and designers put their own personality into a project.
I hope you do too and you decide to keep reading!
