I sewed so many fun things in the days leading up to Christmas, that I'm just now getting caught up showing you!
Here are two patchwork totes that I sewed for gifts using the free Speedy Patchwork Totes tutorial that I posted earlier this year.
This is the patchwork bag that I made my sister Kat for Christmas. It's huge - made with 5" charm squares. I used gray, black, and green scraps from my stash of Blend Fabrics.
To save money, I used SpraynBond Quilt Basting Spray to adhere quilt batting to the lining pieces instead of fusible fleece. It has great body without being stiff.
Then for my father in law I really enjoyed sewing this BBQ-themed tote bag from 3 1/2" squares of Ribs and Bibs, also from Blend Fabrics. I really hope they decide to bring this collection back because it's adorable.
This tote bag is also stabilized with quilt batting scraps adhered to the lining and handles with SpraynBond. Hey, if something works, why change it?
So, what have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.
