I'm writing at 1 a.m. again. From about 9 p.m. until now I worked on binding the quilt that I quilted last night. Late night sewing episodes might be all that I get for a while, and they might be the only thing keeping me sane.
So I have worked on a plan for tiring out the kids out most days: swim team. We finally made it to the pool early in the day today and stayed for 3 hours. Long enough for one application of sunblock to wear off and let me and Cadie get a bit burned. Bother.
While we were there I inquired about it and found out that they have an amateur-league summer swim team that just started practicing. It's not too late for my three older ones to join. And the younger one (floating in the water above) can take lessons at the same time. And I will be more diligent with the sunblock.
No doubt our distressing day yesterday was due to all of us getting used to each other's company all day long. But my kids are going to love each other if it kills them (or me first)! And learn to share pokemon cards and water bottles and the iPad. Thank you everyone who left sweet comments. That was totally unexpected!
Tomorrow: a trip to the beach in the morning and then swim team in the evening. And probably some late-night sewing for me.
