This week I finally got around to making myself something new for #memademay!
This linen top is a new pattern in the 2/2015 issue of Ottobre Design. It's the first thing I've sewn from this issue and I absolutely love it. I've never had a linen top before and I had no idea how cool and comfortable the fabric would be. The fabric is actually a linen blend from The Fabric Market. It has a tiny bit of polyester which gives it a slight sheen and reduces the wrinkling a little.
The design of this top is really interesting. It's meant to be a bit tight around the hips (the linen doesn't stretch, mind you). At first that bothered me. But then I noticed how nicely the top draped and bloused above the hips. It's perfect. There are also 3 pleats on the left shoulder. A very nice touch.
Have you ever tried to photograph yourself??? It's not easy. LOL.
Anyway, have you noticed that our giveaway this week is also an issue of Ottobre Design Magazine? You have until Monday night to enter, don't miss it!
And what have you been sewing up? Show us in our Show Off Saturday Linky Party!
Remember, if you decide to post your picture(s) online (like on facebook, flickr, or your blog) the linky page will let you enter a link to the page where it is so we can visit it. If it's not posted online yet, you may skip that part and upload a picture from your computer. We all can't wait to see!
Don't forget, the most clicked project(s) will be spotlighted here next Friday, just like Heather's Adorable Sewing Machine Cover!
I would love it if you shared our linky party on your blog... here's a button to make it easy.

And don't forget to share the love and visit some of the other fun blogs in the party.
