Almost a year ago, I got my Juki TL-010Q. My poor family... I spent the whole day figuring it out and playing with scraps to get used to how fast it sews. Then I ordered pizza for dinner. :)
After dinner I spent all evening and into the wee hours of the night sewing this Amy Butler Alchemy quilt top. I had a fat quarter bundle that got entirely cut into random pieces and sewn together bit by bit until the quilt emerged. Needless to say, my husband went to bed without me and I tip toed into bed hours later, not tired but feeling exhilarated with my new machine. Only my sewing friends will understand. :)
Then that quilt went into my 'pile O'tops' until I felt inspired last week to quilt it with wavy lines. And this week I finished the binding while getting caught up on Downton Abbey. Yes, I love to snuggle under quilts and bind while I watch TV.
This is the first quilt I've made that I'm keeping for myself. I've made quilts for everyone else in the family and I think I deserve it.
Besides, I could never giveaway this fabric. <3
So, what about you? Any finishes this week? I love to see WIP's too.
