Hello world! Last week I was invited my my friend Heather of The Sewing Loft Blog to be in the around the world blog hop. How fun! She participated in the blog hop last week here.
Heather is a huge source of inspiration for me. We have been emailing and skype-ing for I don't know how long, and we finally met in real live at Quilt Market two years ago. Every time we get the chance to connect I come away with a zillion ideas.
Her latest sewing tutorial shows how to make this adorable sewing machine mat. I seriously need one so bad and can't wait to try her tutorial. As soon as I get some time. Hmmmmm....
Now I'm supposed to share about myself and I thought it would be fun to grab some of my favorite photos off my iPhone from the past year. Nothing tells the truth about a person like their iPhone photos! Obviously, I didn't take the one above, my friend Alicia snapped it while we were having a girls' weekend in NYC last month. It was the bomb!
I recently rode the Mountain Coaster in Gatlinburg, TN with my crazy family. That's my hubby and son in the coaster behind us. My 5 year old baby Cadie was sitting right in front of me, and my other two crazies were already on their way down. I screamed the whole way down while Cadie shrieked with joy.
This past year I had a near-crisis being without my dear Juki due to some user error on my part. Luckily I got the sweetest Juki technician on the phone when I called who talked me through fixing it myself. Whew!
Last year I had a book published, yay! It was a roller coaster ride of a different kind, but oh so rewarding to see a book at Barnes & Noble with your name on it.
Here's a picture of a project I have coming up. I LOVE this beautiful fabric that Walter at Art Gallery Fabrics sent me. It's from Katy Jones' Priory Square collection. Thank you!!!
And here's a real picture of my crazies. I sew for them and I sew to keep my sanity after all their antics. Without them I'd probably not be sewing at all. I thank God for them every day.

Sarah lives near me, our kids go to the same school, and we co-authored Just For You together!
Sarah is a stay at home mom who loves all things fabric related. She started sewing at an early age but really learned to love it as a teenager when she took apart her favorite pair of pants and used it as a pattern to make a new pair. She started designing and sewing handbags to sell at local holiday fairs as a way to use up her ever growing fabric stash.
Jenelle is working with me on another book project and I just love her handiwork - it seems like she can do anything!
I'm Jenelle, a creative gal living in Seattle with my husband and our kitty. I love picking up new craft skills, stashing beautiful fabric, and making all kinds of handmade things.
Watch for their posts next week.
