Time sure gets away from me! The deadline for sending quilts to QuiltCon is fast approaching so I spent time this week getting my dear little Starry Eyed baby ready to go. I wish I were going too, but that's another story that I already shared here.
Anyway, there was lots to do to make sure my quilt can be hung and will come back safe and sound.
I used Jacquie Gering's quilt sleeve tutorial since that's what the MQG recommended. Super easy.
Then I sweet-talked my husband into installing a little hanging system in our bedroom so I could test the sleeve and hang the quilt to try to get some of the creases out. I like it so much that I think I'll have him move the set-up out to our living room. We need a quilt on display all the time, methinks. :)
Lastly, I designed a label and applied it to my quilt using Artists Transfer Paper (TAP) and HeatnBond Ultrabond. When the quilt comes back and I start using and washing it, I'll probably hand stitch the label down just to be safe. But for now it's not going anywhere.
Now I just need to box it up and put it in the mail. Eeeek! I'm so nervous that I entered Starry Eyed into the juried portion of the show. Part of me wants to hear what the judges think but most of me is too scared to find out. Maybe I'll never open the letter or email or however they send it. I really love my quilt and I did my very best on the execution. Isn't that all that matters?
So, what have you been sewing up this week? Did you make something with one of my free sewing tutorials or patterns? I would love to see! Tag me on Instagram @sewcanshe.
