It's no secret: I love selfish sewing. Now, that's not saying that I spend all my time sewing for myself. In fact I get sew for myself less than for the kids, the house, or anyone else. But when I finally push all those other projects aside to sew for myself, it makes me so happy!
So here I'm sharing my 9 favorite tutorials. I'm crazy about them. In fact, I have been using my For Pleats SakeTote (top middle tutorial) for a couple years now and I still get compliments on it.
You can go to the tutorials by clicking the pictures above or the names in the list below.
p.s. You probably already know this, but I love selfish sewing so much I even co-wrote a book about it... it's full of tutorials from my favorite bloggers. Read about Just for You on Amazon here.
Happy Selfish Sewing!
At my daughter Chloe’s high school (can you believe my baby started high school???), the lunch lines are so long that she has been skipping lunch! She’s always starving by the time she gets home because she doesn’t want to carry a big lunch bag as well as her heavy backpack - poor girl!
Sew an easy card wallet using natural cork fabric. This new textile is durable, beautiful, and easy to sew! This free pattern is a great starter project - or a great way to use up scraps.
This Patchwork Cushion is beautiful on my piano bench, but it would look awesome on any other kind of bench too!
Need a gift bag, knitting or crochet bag, lunch bag... lingerie, shoe, make-up, scrap, button, or little bag for any other reason?

My 2-part cross body bag is a success!

When I first showed you this cute little pouch last Saturday, one of you commented about it, calling it a ‘nappy pouch’ since that’s what you call baby diapers in the UK. I think that’s adorable!
So that’s what I’m naming it and I hope it doesn’t cause any confusion here in the U.S. - I’ll be sure to always be clear what it’s for, lol.
I love to have little sketchbooks or art journals handy for when inspiration strikes, so that's what I decided to make. These little journals are so pretty that I'm sure they will inspire me all by themselves. Read on for a tutorial so you can make your own.
