Yesterday I had such a sweet outing with my girls. Our boys (i.e. my hubby and two sons) took off in the afternoon for a father-son campout. I had just finished sewing new swimsuits for these two so we packed a couple towels for them and me a hat (I burn) and headed out to the beach.
Cadie picked out the Nantucket One Piece pattern and I LOVE it. It's so simple and sweet, especially in that orange gingham swim fabric (also from the Fabric Fairy). I'll be making more of this pattern soon.
It was a perfect day for gathering shells.
If you're new to sewing swimsuits these patterns explain every step and really are easy - especially that Nantucket One Piece.
I've made new swimsuits for my girls every summer the past few years now and if you ask me for advice it would be to not to skip the lining. If you are going to spend your time making a swimsuit, might as well make one better than store-bought, right? The Fabric Fairy sells nice swimsuit lining as well as the fabric and the swim elastic.
Okay, now it's your turn... what did you make this week?
Remember, if you decide to post your picture(s) online (like on facebook, flickr, or your blog) the linky page will let you enter a link to the page where it is so we can visit it. Don't forget, the most clicked project will be spotlighted here next Friday.
I would love it if you shared our linky party in your blog post... here's a button to make it easy.
And don't forget to share the love and visit some of the other fun blogs in the party.
