I love this design but don't have a whole lot of time for quilting, so I hope to fit a block in here and there in between other projects. My first step was to collect my favorite quilting fabric scraps and organize them by color. My daughter Chloe helped. She loves to help. :)
Then I grabbed my blue bag and got to work. I didn't follow Amy's tutorial exactly. As you can see, my muslin strips are twice as wide as hers. It made my block a different size (11.5 x 12), but I don't think it will matter if I make them all the same size.
This is the muslin I used for my strips - after washing and ironing. The wrinkles didn't iron out! But I don't mind really. It gives the block a stained glass window look. Or maybe it would have had that anyway.
My plan is to make at least one a month and then in a year put them all together into a quilt. Fingers crossed.
So what did you make this week? Link up any photo below (from your blog, flickr, instagram, etc.) and the most clicked on photo will be Spotlighted on Friday. Yesterday we spotlighted Amy's amazing patriotic pageant costume. Wow!
Here's an image if you would like to share our linky party on your own blog. <3
