The Aeroplane Bag Pattern from Sew Sweetness – a firsthand review

I don’t know if you had noticed yet, but Sara from Sew Sweetness has now opened her own pattern shop! I met Sara at Quilt Market last year and she is just as sweet in person as she is in our online sewing world. Some of the cutest bag patterns that we’ve featured here on SewCanShe have come from Sara’s blog, so I was over-the-top-thrilled when Sara emailed me offering to let me try one of her new pdf patterns.

UPDATE: I love this pattern so much I sewed another Aeroplane Bag! Check out my quilted one with 2 zipper pulls.

It was kind of hard choosing which pattern… I would love to try all of them! I finally decided on the Aeroplane Bags pattern.

And it was the photo like this, of the bag holding a sewing machine that sold me. It actually does hold a sewing machine. I don’t have a case for this particular sewing machine (she’s my spare), so I might keep her in the bag… if I can stop thinking of other things to use this beautiful bag for too. I can see myself making lots more of these bags.

There are two easy to make pockets on the inside… plus that’s where I hid my gnomes. 🙂 These fabrics are made by Timeless Treasures, by the way.

And that lime green faux-snakeskin vinyl/fabric? He he. I found that on clearance at Joann’s last year and decided to re-cover all of my dining room chairs in it. I LOVE  the color. I kept couple yards of leftover just in case any of the chairs got worn out too fast, but it has held up surprisingly well. I think it looks awesome on my Aeroplane bag.

I also have to show you the big chunky zipper. It may be my favorite part.

So be sure you check out Sew Sweetness Patterns to see Sara’s new pdf patterns.

Happy sewing today!
