We're on a little stay-cation this weekend... testing out the camper with our newly recovered cushions - I still have to take pictures of them but you'll see them soon.
I want you to know that I've been reading ALL of your comments on my last post about the cost of handmade items. Most of you make me feel so happy to be among women who create for the love of it. Some of the comments are upsetting, and not because I pity those whose talents are misused by others - but because I know exactly how you feel! I feel so much guilt saying 'no,' that I often take on projects for which people would never pay me what the item is worth and I end up just giving it to them.
Anyway... back to sewing for the love of it: Before we left I stitched up a little dress for Chloe - it's from this summer's Ottobre Design magazine (Issue 03/2015).
I wasn't sure how I'd like the pattern, so I made it in some of the lesser-favorite knit fabrics in my stash. But she really loves how comfy it is so I'll probably make it again in a fabric that is more modern. The dress has pockets and elastic shirring in the back to give it a nice shape.
In these pictures we were walking back to our campsite from the beach. It was lovely. In between the rainstorms.
Every time it rains I start to miss my sewing room and I wish I had brought a sewing machine and some fabric to make the time more productive. Or at least a hand quilting or embroidery project. Sheesh! Why didn't I pack that???
And just so you know, that issue includes a women's version of the dress too. I was surprised, because the children's issues haven't had grown up clothes in a long time. I sewed one up for myself and love how easy it is to wear. I know, I need to get pictures.
And now it's your turn! Share what you've been sewing in our Show Off Saturday Linky Party!
Remember, if you decide to post your picture(s) online (like on facebook, flickr, or your blog) the linky page will let you enter a link to the page where it is so we can visit it. If it's not posted online yet, you may skip that part and upload a picture from your computer. We all can't wait to see!
Don't forget, the most clicked project will be spotlighted here next Friday.
I would love it if you shared our linky party on your blog... here's a button to make it easy.
