I'm so excited about the projects we're making this month in our Just For You Sewlebrity Sewalong... and about the 'Sewlebrities' that are sewing for us!
If you haven't joined us yet, we're sewing two new projects every month from Just For You, the book that Sarah Markos and I co-authored together. Just For You has 24 projects to inspire selfish sewing: skirts, dresses, tops, tote bags, and accessories.
And everyone who sews along with us will get a limited edition Sewlebrity button. Scroll to the end to see.
First up is the Faux Wrap Pencil Skirt. This adorable skirt is so easy to make. We used high quality cotton lycra knit from The Fabric Fairy.
And just to show you that it looks good on any body type, here's mine. I love it! I keep finding tops in my closet that look great with it. Including my pink peplum top that you can read about in this post.
The amazing thing about this skirt is that there are no sizes. The instructions in Just For You will walk you through the process of making a skirt to fit your body exactly in any length that you want.
Later on this month I'll share with you the double needle technique I used to sew a hem that looks better than store bought. :)
Then we'll be making this beautiful Tied Belt. You'll have lots of fun sewing it up with just a little bit of fabric and some faux leather. This particular belt was made with left over vinyl from a chair recovering project, lol!
