Do you sew enough for yourself? It's a busy time of year, so I'm ready to help you squeeze two cute projects in this month... Just For You! Each month in our Just For You Sewlebrity Sewalong, I have been inviting two of my favorite 'sewlebrity' bloggers to make something from the book that Sarah Markos and I co-authored, Just For You.
Then at the end of the month we'll post pictures of sewing projects that our fans made. It's so much fun... make sure you visit and post pictures in our Just For You Facebook group.
This month, sew up a couple things to show off over the holidays. You can find both sewing projects in the 'November' chapter of Just For You.
The first one is the Chiffon and Lace skirt that was designed by Disney of Ruffles & Stuff. I made the one in the picture using vintage lace that I had been collecting forever. There are 4 layers of sheer chiffon tricot (I bought it quite inexpensively at fabric.com) and a non-sheer lining. To tell you the truth, the 4 sheer layers were slipping around and not wanting to be perfectly aligned - in the end I gave up on perfection and just stitched it together. It turned out beautiful!
The second Just For You sewing project this month is the Bella Pouch. It is a sweet and easy clutch perfect for carrying just the necessities - like your wallet and phone. We made it in quilting cottons, but I imagine it dressed up for the holidays in a pretty sateen. :)
So which project will you make? Grab a copy of Just For You and watch for our next 'Sewlebrity' post next Wednesday!
