Today is the first day in a blog hop celebrating the release of a new book from It's Sew Emma - 'Fat Quarter Baby!' What would be better than a book full of baby quilts, than a book full of baby quilts all made with fat quarters???
My quilt is the first of the 10 'girly' quilts and it features the classic churn dash block in a clever new arrangement.
As you can see, I decided to see what would happen if I switched the light and dark fabrics in my quilt. For the churn dashes and the borders I used 'Tiger Stripes' in 4 different colors (Alexia Abegg for Cotton + Steel). The background is a couple navy blue prints also from Cotton + Steel.
I quilted it with an all over meandering design - can you see the hearts I 'drew' in? This quilt is meant for a baby, after all. Why not sew some love into it?
You can see all 20 baby quilts in this video book trailer for 'Fat Quarter Baby.' There are so many adorable quilts inside - I can't wait until I need to use it again!
