This would be called a wholecloth quilt since I didn't piece any parts together. I decided to quilt around each of the birds and animals (and the trees!) by hand with pearl cotton. Sheesh! It was very easy but took much longer than I had expected. I learned the technique from Hand Quilting: Heirloom Design & Technique on Craftsy. Great class.
Then I decided to sew the binding on differently than I ever have before. I hand stitched it down on the front (instead of the back of the quilt as usual) and let my stitches show instead of hiding them.
I absolutely love how it turned out. Now to wait for those grandbabies, lol. That's okay, my oldest is only 11. I can wait.
Now I want to see what you've been sewing up... post a picture in our Show Off Saturday linky party!
Remember, if you decide to post your picture(s) online (like on facebook, flickr, or your blog) the linky page will let you enter a link to the page where it is so we can visit it. If it's not posted online yet, you may skip that part and upload a picture from your computer. We all can't wait to see!
Don't forget, the most clicked project will be spotlighted here next Friday.
I would love it if you shared our linky party in your blog post... here's a button to make it easy.
And don't forget to share the love and visit some of the other fun blogs in the party.
