When Sarah and I were writing 'Just For You,' we divided the projects into a chapter for each month and we put the 2 aprons into the chapter for October.
Why? Well in October you have to finish all of your Thanksgiving sewing. Because we all know that November is for Christmas sewing, right? If you are going to do any Thanksgiving sewing, it has to be done by the end of October.
And we have 2 adorable aprons to share with you for the month of October...
The first is the Pretty Pockets Apron designed by Maureen Cracknell who writes the blog Maureen Cracknell Handmade. When we were putting Just For You together, we had no idea that Maureen was already working on a bunch of other projects, including her own fabric line! So we are very pleased and grateful that she took the time to design this beautiful apron for us. It takes 5 coordinating fat quarters and it has a unique appliqué design and 2 clever pockets.
The second project this month is the Retro Urban Apron designed by our friend Leslie of The Seasoned Homemaker. When we met Leslie she was already a successful pattern designer and had a whole line of popular apron patterns. That's why we begged her for a Seasoned Homemaker original apron for our book. And we love how it turned out.
Whatever you have planned to sew during the month of October, make sure you get at least one apron made so you have something cute to wear while you cook for Thanksgiving... because we know you'll be Christmas sewing after that! :)
The patterns for both of these aprons are found in Just For You, available on Amazon and hopefully in your local bookshop and quilt shop! You can sewalong with us by joining our Facebook group and checking back here every Wednesday to see what everybody is making.
