Many of you already know that I'm a huge fan of Craftsy video classes. Hours of meaningful instruction, amazing teachers, and the convenience of coming back and reviewing anything I want anytime I want... it's a no brainer. So when someone at Craftsy approached me about writing a series of posts about my favorite classes (and offering some sweet giveaways) I had to say yes.
I'm excited to start with Piece, Patch, Quilt: Basic Quiltmaking Skills with Gail Kessler.
This free class is for anyone from beginners who want learn to quilt to experienced quilters who want to be more organized, faster, and more accurate.
There are sections on cutting, chain piecing, basting, machine quilting, and even hand quilting!
Then you'll watch Gail finish a quilt up with binding and a label. Plus the free downloadable materials contain patterns for 4 quilts including a cute little mug rug!
When it comes to learning something new, there's nothing like watching another person do it from start to finish. There are things that I've learned in Craftsy classes that I never picked up from all of the quilting and sewing books I've read.
And I know it sounds funny, but at the end of each class I feel like I've made a new friend in the instructor. If I ever run into Gail at Quilt Market or somewhere I'll probably do something silly like go up and start a conversation with her like I actually sat in a class with her. 'Cause that's what it feels like.
So go log into your Craftsy account (or sign up for a free one) and watch Piece, Patch, Quilt: Basic Quiltmaking Skills. Then keep you eye out for my next Craftsy class review with a giveaway for one of my absolute favorite classes. :)
disclaimer: This is a sponsored blog post paid by Craftsy. I watched the class even before they approached me and I have stated my honest opinions. I really do love this class. :)
