We've been on spring break all week here so yesterday I took my kids out to their grandma's farm to see some new baby chicks that just hatched.
It was the first time that Cadie wore this little dress I made her from the 01/2014 issue of Ottobre Design. The pattern only has long or 3/4 sleeves so I substituted a cap sleeve I already had traced from Ottobre issue 04/2013.
The fabric on the bottom is woven... Monaluna's Evening in the Meadow Collection. It's so silky and tightly woven. For the top part of the dress I used Geo Dot Knit from Monaluna's Woodland Knits collection. Monaluna fabric is so perfect for this project because they have soft organic knits and wovens that work so well together.
Perfect for holding baby chicks, don't you think?
And this little dress is the sum of my spring break sewing. All of my little chicks have kept this momma chicken way too busy. :)
What about you... have you stitched up anything new for spring?
