Growing up with a mom that did everything from stained glass windows to wedding gowns, I learned to appreciate creativity and learning new skills. I sewed a little growing up but it wasn't until I had my first baby and wanted to save money rather than buy baby clothes that I really dove into sewing. Slowly I became more confident and began creating my own designs for my kids and eventually clothes for me. As a taller woman, pants are never long enough and I can never find long sleeves or jackets that fit, making sewing for myself a solution to orangutan arms! Living in a tiny, isolated desert town with only one stop light, I also enjoy building furniture, painting, decorating, resurrecting junk into something new, quilting, crafting, and gardening. Creating is a big part of my life and I've been thrilled to see it rubbing off on my own kids--passing it on as it did from my mom to me.
